I know. I’ve blabbered endlessly about hair removal just lately because tis the season to bare some flesh - summer! I’ve talked about razors, wax strips, and several beauty gadgets, but let me just let you know that there’s another new hair removal gadget in the corner, and it doesn’t just offer “for the moment” short-run hair removal - it’s a long term hair removal technology that is found in the new Braun Silk-épil Xpressive Epilator.

Ø Patented HairLift technology that lifts, loosens and gently removes hair from the root.

Ø Sonic tweezer system that uses a 40 tweezer epilation system that removes more hair with each stroke than any other epilator.

Ø Flexible head that can pivot by up to 15 degrees to adapt to the contours of the bodyØ Interchangeable caps for a customized epilation experience

Ø Olay pre-epilation wipes to cool and soften skin prior to epilation

Ø Ability to remove hair as short as .5mm in length – much shorter than the 2-5 mm required for waxing – so you’ll never look like sasquatch in a skirt

The Braun Silk-epil Xpressive promises women up to four weeks of smooth, hair free skin without constantly waxing, tweezing, or doing the usual hair removal ritual. Its 40-tweezer epilation system removes hair i one stroke, and from the roots that promise women a luxurious DIY hair removal session whose results are more lasting than normal routines out there. It can also be used to various areas in the body with unwanted hair such as the face, the legs, the underarms, and even the bikini area.

What impressed me is as compared to waxing that requires 2-5mm length of hair before it can be waxed, Braun Silk-épil Xpressive can remove hair as short as .5mm in length. So, another option for me, that I would love to experiment with! What I know is that I am still not willing to undergo permanent hair removal by laser because I don’t really see the need, so I pretty much want to stick with DIY products, or gadgets.

The Braun Silk-épil Xpressive promises long term results that I would love it if it would take hair removal off my worries for a while. I shall be updating you guys on how it fares on me. Let’s hope for the best!

I’ve been looking all over Manila for an epilator! do you know where I can get one? :)

Waxing is the only acceptable hair removal process for me :P

Hi Lia! It’s set to be launched in the US just this May - it’s been sold in UK for some time now. I don’t know when it’d reach us, but it’d help if you can ask someone from the US to get you one. I’m off to write the entry - I’ve been using it :)

I agree - waxing was the only way before this! :) I still have my strips!:)

Hi, just got my hands on this little beauty yesterday as a gift from my husband for an anniversary present. I had a previous model and was quite happy but felt I needed a rechargeable version. I love it! Can sit on the bed no where near a plug socket or in the bathroom near a big mirror in good light. It also has a shaving/trimming head to start you off as we who epilate know it hurts less when hair is shorter. My big surprise was how good the Olay wipes are, they are much better than using the cool glove which I found more of a pain than a help. The wipes prepare the area, minimizing pain and make skin silky smooth. Plus an hour charge gives you 40 mins of use. I cant see how they could improve on this model. I give 10 out of 10.
