Emergency Makeup Brushes

by Sophia on March 6th, 2008

One thing really strange about me is that I tend to forget to bring something with me during my trips. This time, I was faced with the worst mistake - I totally forgot to bring this,

charm makeup brush set

My trusty Charm Travel Brush Set.

I realized I wasn’t able to bring it with me as I went to my friend’s house without any makeup on, and 2 hours prior to our flight, as I tried to put makeup on her bathroom, I could not find the brushes. I panicked like someone who just lost her passport. Good thing my friend has a Charm Travel Brush Set with her, but she was using it too, so she just made me choose some brushes that I would need.

Major problem. As much as I wanted the 8-piece set all to myself, I needed to narrow my set down to maybe 3 or 4 pieces. Guess what I came up with?

First , I needed a big brush for my foundation, blush, and finishing powder application. Normally, I’d love a kabuki, a dual fibre, and an angled blush brush, but I would just have to get one - I spotted bestbud M’s bronzer brush ( animal hair ) and chose that.

Second, just one brush for my concealing - overall concealing , that is. Normally, I’d love to use one concealer brush made of synthetic hair for my blemishes, and one eyeshadow brush ( crease blending, to be exact ) for applying concealer on my undereyes. Now, I’d have to go with one small concealer brush, made of synthetic hair. The trick is, just to lighten the pressure on the undereyes as concealer is to be applied so as not to have the “raccoon effect.”

Third, I just needed something really important - an eyeliner brush! I settled for a brow liner brush as I can use it for my brows, as well as to use it to line my eyes. I would just wash the brush after applying mineral eyeliner ( with sealant ) to give my brows some definition.

So , there you go, I’ve quite done the impossible by scrimping on makeup brushes. Not too happy, but I managed to survived four days and three nights with these three brushes, looking good, concealed, and photo-worthy!
